Faculty and Students of the School of Education Achieve Outstanding Success in the 1st National Teaching Digitalization Competition

The winners of the 1st National Teaching Digitalization Competition, jointly organized by China Education Online and Beijing Information Science and Technology University, were recently announced. The teams representing the School of Education at the City University of Macau (CityU) delivered exceptional performances under the guidance of Associate Professor Peng Jun, securing the Grand Prize in the Student Category and the Second Prize in the Faculty Category. Additionally, Associate Professor Peng Jun and PhD student Su Baohua were honored with the Advanced Individual Award, while the City University of Macau received the Excellent Organization Award.

The competition attracted 827 entries from 341 institutions, involving 2,627 participants from 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China, as well as the Macao SAR and the United Kingdom. As one of the most authoritative events in the domestic education sector for faculty and students, the competition aims to build a platform for exchange and learning in modern educational technology, promoting the application of information technology, internet technology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching.

In the highly competitive Higher Education Liberal Arts Track (Student Category), the team composed of PhD students Su Baohua, Liu Longqing, Gong Yuqing, and Tu Ailin stood out with their entry titled "Smart Teaching Case Integrating Curriculum-Based Ideological and Political Education under a Multicultural Context." Representing the team in the final defense, Liu Longqing demonstrated solid academic foundations and earned unanimous acclaim from the judges, ultimately securing the National Grand Prize. The project integrates traditional Chinese culture and patriotic sentiments into instructional design, aiming to foster the "Love China, Love Macao" spirit. Utilizing network technology, the team also focused on constructing digital teaching resources, innovatively creating a "Learning Community under a SPOC Environment" to establish a new environment for collaborative knowledge construction.

In the Higher Education Liberal Arts Track (Faculty Category), Associate Professor Peng Jun collaborated with PhD students Su Baohua, Liu Shalu, and Xu Yuming. Su Baohua represented the team in the final defense, where their work, "Cross-Institutional Blended Teaching Case between Guangdong and Macao in the 'Internet+' Era," won the National Second Prize. Using "Instructional Design and Implementation" as a case study, the project leveraged the resources of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Online Open Course Alliance. It fully utilized the integration of teaching, faculty, and environments to create a model combining teacher-led instruction with student-led autonomous learning. The case highlighted innovations such as cross-spatiotemporal resource integration, flexible pedagogy, learning transfer, and precise multidimensional evaluation, further promoting online course sharing to benefit university students across Guangdong and Macao.
