On March 8, 2024, at the invitation of South China Normal University (SCNU), Dean Cheng Li-Ying, Program Coordinator Peng Jun, and a delegation of students from the School of Education traveled to Guangzhou to attend the Inauguration Ceremony and First Academic Forum of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Teacher Education Alliance. During the forum, Dean Cheng Li-Ying also delivered an academic presentation.

The seminar was hosted by South China Normal University and co-organized by the Education University of Hong Kong and the University of Macau. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Teacher Education Alliance is an organization designed to pool research expertise and resources in the field of teacher education from universities across the three regions. It aims to strengthen exchange and collaboration while promoting the cooperative development of teacher education in the Greater Bay Area.

During the academic forum, Dean Cheng Li-Ying delivered a keynote presentation titled "Where do we go in teacher education? Core teacher professional standards," sharing her insights and research.

Centered on the theme "Cooperative Development of Teacher Education in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao," the seminar facilitated policy interpretation, experience sharing, and academic exchange. Discussions focused on key topics such as exchange and cooperation among university faculty, collaborative teacher education curricula, and the interaction and cooperation of teacher-training students within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region.
