The 11th International Conference and Workshops on Chinese Language Education in International Schools, co-organized by the City University of Macau (CityU) and Kao Yip Middle School, officially opened on November 23, 2024, at the Cultural Centre on CityU’s Taipa campus. Centered on the theme "The Future of Language Education: Chinese as a Global Language," the conference provided a platform for over 200 Chinese language educators from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas to exchange valuable experiences and fruitful research achievements, collectively exploring new developments in Chinese language education.

The School of Education actively participated in the preparatory work for this three-day event, with subsequent activities scheduled to take place at Kao Yip Middle School. Through diverse formats—including keynote speeches, workshops, classroom observations, and paper presentations—the conference conducted in-depth explorations into the development and future of Chinese language teaching within an internationalized educational context. The seminar was dedicated to building an open and shared academic platform, providing opportunities for Chinese language teachers to engage in academic exchange, fostering the collision of research ideas, and bridging the gap between theory and practice to jointly promote the vigorous development of Chinese language education.

Dr. Yang Yinghong, an educational scholar, author, and PhD alumna of the School of Education, was invited to deliver a keynote speech titled "Children's Literature Reading and the Psychological Construction of Children's Self-Identity: A Case Study of Parent-Child Reading." Her presentation garnered extensive attention and sparked meaningful discussions among the participants.

During the conference, several faculty members and students from the School of Education had their research papers accepted and were invited to present their findings. These included Assistant Professor Huang Biyun and Assistant Professor Chang Chia-Wei, as well as Master of Education students Xie Yuwen, Song Changlin, Jiao Yifan, Cai Yizhong, Huang Ziyun, Xie Shiyi, and Zheng Kunhan. Additionally, Master of Teaching and Learning students Pi Bing, Tan Jiayuan, Yang Weiyu, Yu Junzhu, Zhou Liuyixuan, and Wu Mengwei presented their research, showcasing the School’s scholarly achievements in the field of Chinese language education.
