Research Interests
Professor Zhang Quan’s research interests cover teaching and researching in computerized cognitive testing, CAT, IRT, Rasch Measurement, techniques for item analysis and test equating. He is the key member undertaking practical data analysis for the ten-year MET equating project (1990-1999) sponsored by the National Education Examinations Authority, China.
In 2019, as the chief expert, Prof. Zhang led a team to have successfully developed and updated the Rasch-GZ system for item analysis and test equating based on Rasch model. Incorporated with AI applications, this system platform has obtained the Computer Software Copyright Registration Certificate issued by the China National Copyright Administration. The system can process data matrix of unlimited items by unlimited subjects and automatically generate any language that users prefer to have in the output files, thus widely used in academic circles in the Pacific Rim countries and regions. Apart from this, Prof. Zhang has published some papers in both domestic and international academic journals, several monographs and translations by Taylor & Francis, the Spring Nature and other publishers. Ever since 2012, he has been serving as a perennial reviewer for several SSCI journals such as Educational Psychology, Frontiers, etc. Prof. Zhang’s research and application in the Rasch model have been widely recognized by international Rasch peers. So far, he has supervised several MA and PhD students in the field of language testing research.
